Guidelines on Planning for Success!

As you really get going in 2011, here is a checklist / reminder about how to stay on track.

1.  Set goals
Constantly refer back to those goals to help determine priorities. Look at those goals daily to affirm them.

2. Stay focused on your goals
Be sure your daily activities relate specifically to completing your goals. Maintain a clear mental picture as if you have already accomplished the goals and you know exactly how you expect to feel as a result of accomplishing the goals. We achieve success by staying focused on what is most important. Have a visual reminder, pictures, screensaver or a wall paper to remind you constantly of your goals.

3.  Avoid procrastination
Do the tasks that you like the least FIRST. When you don't feel like doing them, that is usually the best time to do it.

4.  Maintain a positive attitude
Remember, you are awesome as a human being no matter what… i.e. regardless of whether or not you hear “No” from a prospect. Also, positive attitude is contagious. With a smile you can break down almost any defense a prospect has.

5.  Take an interest in your customers, team members and prospects
Dale Carnegie said "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."  Demonstrating genuine interest in others ensures success. Remember, Network Marketing is a people's business. The product is not the business, the people are.

6.  Ask questions and LISTEN
Ask one question at a time. Pause and breathe while the person you are speaking with answers. Take time to hear them with your ears AND with your heart. Don't speak to quickly after the person has finished, take a second to really relate to what he/she has said.

7.  Remember non-hysterical consistency
Prospect a little bit every day. Make sure your activities include networking, meeting new people, obtaining referrals, etc. Make it an on-going activity. A little bit every day is a lot over a period of a year.

8. Keep your promises
Better yet, under promise and over deliver. If you are unsure to promise something, "DON'T MAKE THE PROMISE"!!! You have your integrity to loose, and no amount of money can get that back.

9. Educate yourself
Read books, listen to podcasts and CDs.  Better yet, subscribe to a Continuous Education Program. Continue to learn and grow.

10. Have fun
Keep things in perspective and remember you are a VALUE CREATOR and can solve most people's problems. Enjoy the process, make it a little light hearted. Remember, it is just Network Marketing, and not saving the world!

11. Not every prospect qualifies to be your customer or team member
Work with qualified prospects only. Don't waste you time convincing them what you've got is gold. If they don't bite, don't try and force them to.

These are just a few points that I have found to work. In your business it might be a little different, but the just of it still remains the same. Any business out there is sales, no matter what people say. Humans are natural sales people. Develop it to become fantastic and the world is your playground.

Regards
Dirk
